Cookies

You can visit our websites without providing personal data. However, when you visit our pages, certain technical data, known as usage data, is generated. Additionally, we may install one or more cookies, about which we would like to inform you below.

  1. What are Cookies?
We use cookies on our websites. These are small files that are stored on your hard drive and in which certain information is saved so that a server can read it again. These cookies can be session cookies that are automatically deleted as soon as you close your browser, or cookies with a longer, predefined duration. When you visit one of our websites, our partner Sirdata creates cookies that allow personalized offers to be communicated – for example, through the display of “banners” – even on other websites where the SIRDATA CMP technology is implemented. Compare Energy participates in all specifications and guidelines of the IAB Europe Transparency and Consent Framework and complies with them, utilizing the Consent Management Platform #92. You can change your options at any time by clicking here.

    • Google Analytics (Audience Measurement). The cookie installed by Google Analytics allows for the anonymous measurement of the audience. The IP address used for geolocation is not more precise than the city level. In practice, the last two bytes of the IP address are removed.
  3. How Can I Configure or Reject Cookies?
You have several options for managing cookies. Any changes you make may affect your internet browsing experience and your access conditions to certain services that require the use of cookies. You can express and change your wishes regarding cookies at any time in the manner described below.

3.1 Options in Your Browser Software
You can configure your browser software to allow cookies to be stored on your device or, conversely, to refuse them, either systematically or depending on the sender. You can also configure your browser software to give you the opportunity to accept or reject cookies from time to time before a cookie can be stored on your device. For more information, please refer to "How to exercise your options depending on the browser you use."

    3.1.1 Cookie Acceptance
The registration of a cookie on a device is generally subject to the wishes of the device user, which can be expressed and changed at any time and free of charge through the options offered by your browser software. If you have accepted the storage of cookies on your device in your browser software, cookies integrated into the pages and content you visit can be temporarily stored in a designated area on your device. They can only be read by the sender.

    3.1.2 Cookie Refusal
If you refuse to accept cookies on your device or delete the cookies stored on your device, you may no longer be able to use certain features that are necessary for the full use of our website. This would be the case if you attempted to access our content or services that require your identity to be verified. This would also be the case if we – or our service providers – could not recognize the type of browser used by your device, your language and display settings, or the country from which your device appears to be connected to the internet, due to technical compatibility reasons. We hereby disclaim any responsibility for the consequences that may arise from the impaired functioning of our services resulting from our inability to register or retrieve the cookies required for their operation that you have refused or deleted.

3.1.3 Cookie Settings for Your Browser

  4. Push Notifications
You have the option to subscribe to receive push notifications. We use the service "CleverPush" from CleverPush GmbH, Nagelsweg 22, 20097 Hamburg (“CleverPush”) for this purpose.
You will regularly receive information about products or services.

To subscribe to push notifications, you must confirm your browser or device's request to receive notifications. This process is documented and stored by CleverPush. For this purpose, the registration time and a push identifier or device identifier are recorded. This data is used to send you push notifications and as proof of your registration. The legal basis for this processing is your consent, thus Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR.

CleverPush also analyzes the statistics of our push notifications. In this way, CleverPush can determine whether our push notifications were displayed and when they were clicked. This allows us to identify which push notifications are of interest to recipients, enabling us to tailor future messages to the presumed interests of all recipients and thus increase interest in our offerings. In addition to the push token or device ID, we also collect the core theme of the app in which push notifications have been activated (e.g., business, sports, etc.). We also use this information to send subscribers relevant push notifications based on their presumed interests. The legal basis for processing is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. A push or device identifier will only be assigned to a specific person if we are legally obliged to do so, to defend against claims against us, when required as evidence, and to pursue a potential legal infringement.

Your consent to the storage and use of your personal data for receiving push notifications from us can be revoked at any time with effect for the future. Furthermore, you may object to the use of your personal data as described above according to Article 6 (1) (f) at any time. To do this, we ask you to withdraw your consent. You can revoke your consent by making the appropriate settings in your device or browser settings for receiving push notifications.

Your data will be deleted as soon as it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. Therefore, your data will be stored as long as your subscription for our push notifications is active. The removal process is explained in detail at the following link: cleverpush FAQ.

To accelerate the retrieval of content (e.g., images) and to defend against attacks, CleverPush uses cloudflare.com, a service from Cloudflare, Inc., for order processing based on standard contractual clauses.

CleverPush does not store data containing personal information on Cloudflare servers, only general content such as texts or images. When you retrieve this content, the device you are using connects to Cloudflare, whereby the IP address of the device you are using is processed.
